Hey there! Are any of you thinking about or have gotten an epidural?

For the moms that have: Did it hurt? Are you glad you got one? Any advice?!

No, too risky and unnecessary~   I prefer the alternatives for a safer enjoyable experience with my labors.

Are you preferring to avoid one?

No. By the time I got to the hospital, it was time to push!

I have had 4 babies, 2 with, 2 without. My first, I would have gotten it all over again, with #2 it was awful and I had problems afterwards because of it. So I opted out with #3 and #4.

I cannot have one, but even if I could it never would have been an option for me.

To me the risks aren't worth the benefits.

I very glad I got one both times. I thankfully never have no problems.

I had one with both of my kids. With my first, I couldnt feel anything at all. With my second, it was just right ..couldnt feel any pain but could feel enough to know when to push and such.

Both hurt going in. With my second, they attempted placement 4x before they got it in. I'm not sure why, although I had a bank injury during my pregnancy. I still have the scars from it.

No. I birth naturally. I've done a ton of research and the risks just don't outweigh the benefits for me. I did hypnobirthing with ds. I'll do the same and probably incorporate what I'm learning in my Bradley class with it.

Yes I did with my second. Long story on why I did and will never ever again have one.  To many risks and it was the worst experience of my life. My natural labors were 10 times better then with my epidural.

I had one with my first child. When it came time to push I developed a "hot spot" meaning only half my body was numb. After I got it they wouldn't let me out of bed. With my second child I did not get an epidural because he came too fast. I feel like it was a waste of time to get it, and I probably would have been more comfortable without. I know I was the second time around.
