No ab exercises?

I am going to see the doc for my first appt. in February, but I talked to a nurse today.  She told me absolutely ZERO ab exercises.  That's my favorite thing to do...  Has anyone else been told this?  I knew I wasn't supposed to lay on my back for prolonged periods of time, but she said this was different.

I just looked it up and on WebMD it says that it is a pregnancy myth.  Idk what to think now.

I hadn't heard that....interesting. Sounds like a myth to me, but who knows.

I didn't think it was a problem in early pregnancy.

I will say that my chiropractor told me today that he often sees "fit" women who get pregnant.  Apparently, they have such great abs prior to pregnancy, the muscles keep working and stay tight when they need to relax.

Of course, I didn't have great abs to begin with and I'm still having tightness issues on one side :)

My doc said I could do any exercises I felt comfortable with, as long as  I was having no cramping, bleeding , or leaking.

I knw ab workouts further along in pregnancy arent at all recommended but some nurses honestly dont knw what theyre talking about and go by myths that have been passed on i had one that told me not to go to the dentist for anything and the dr told me the opposite
