No.

My sister in law gained 60 pounds during pregnancy and has the healthiest baby boy in the world. She worked out her whole pregnancy and ate right. It was just right for her to gain that much to carry the baby. Shes lost all her baby weight now and looks great.

Do no be self concious. The number doesnt matter, what matters is that your baby is healthy and happy.

Good Luck! :)

I'm sorry she says that to you!  That's terrible!  Especially since we all feel huge and self conscious when we are pregnant. I'm struggling with the same thing now that my morning sickness is gone. I'm like an eating machine!  The most important thing is to keep you and your baby healthy!  You can worry about losing weight after. I would definitely try yogurt!

i was thinking maybe yogurt for my sweet craving? i LOVE yogurt. and its sweet enough that when i eat it it satisfy's my cravings. i dont want to gain ANYMORE weight :(  but my willpower is so low ever since i became pregnant. it's like when i want something i WANT it lol. i obsess until i get it! but going from 195-244 makes me feel so unattractive. doesnt help that my mother points out the my stomach is not all baby everytime she see's me. lol. i just feel so.... ugly

Be careful with thinking breast feeding will slim you down - I thought I would lose so much weight from breast feeding and it didn't make me lose squat!  I hope it's different for you though!  I would just be careful because if you are like me I gained a lot of weight in my last month.  I think nothing but good old fashioned will power and eating in moderation will help you combat the sweets cravings. Maybe try and find healthier solutions such as fruit or Popsicles?  Or just don't have sweets in the house- if they are not there then you can't eat them. I know it's so hard- especially when you are pregnant!

Chocolate is what I crave more than anything. I'm 20weeks & noticed I've put on more weight than I did my last pregnancy..so I went out & stocked up on cantaloupe. Its not chocolate, but what is right? Lol. Its helped w/my sweet cravings some.

Yea that's a lot. You're almost at 50 lbs and you still have a ways to go before you have your baby. At this rate you may wind up putting on a good 60 plus lbs easy. Be mindful of what you're eating is the only thing you can really do. With my daughter I started out heavy at about 186 and I knew that so I made sure I didn't put on a crazy amount of weight. By the end of that pregnancy I gained 26 lbs. This time I'm at about 10 lbs gained and I'm 19 weeks

I gained 60 with my first and lost 34 before i left the hospital. It's probably a lot of water weight. It's not bad if you're not overweight to begin with, if you are, that's a real lot to gain.

It really depends on how much you weighed before you got pregnant.

Doctors tend to want to see people that weighed more gain less through the pregnancy and those that weighed little to gain a lot during the pregnancy.

It all depends on that and what kinds of things you are eating that is causing you to gain weight.

I mean if you are eating mothing but junk food, then ya know..

Mostly it's up to you. I wouldn't go on a strict diet and exercise program while pregnant. But you have to be comfortable as well.

I was always told to enjoy it all while it lasted because after you have that baby for quite a few months you won't have time to really eat, sleep, drink or even really breath.

That's a little on the high end. But everybody's different. I gained 45lbs with my first. And I'm almost 20 wks pregnant with my second and have gained 15lbs.

Its quite a bit.....but if you were under weight to start its okay. Generally if youre over weight you should gain at the most 20 lbs, average weight 30 lbs and under weight 40
