My reflux dr told me to go off prevacid which i've been on 6 years and switch to otc zantac which may be safer. I've tried the past couple of days and been choking over my own saliva. I know it could have risks, but is it riskier to have asthma attacks the whole pregnancy? b/c reflux gives me asthma attacks, not to mention possible damage to esoghagus, lungs, breathing tubes, voice, ect. I'm putting myself back on my medicine so I don't drown in my own stomach acids and talking to my regular dr about it on monday.

Gosh, I don't know.  Unless it's something you feel you absolutely can't do without, better safe than sorry.  Though according to safefetus.com, it's a category B drug and not shown to cause fetal harm in animal testing.
