please see photo, is this a cleft lip?

i just have my 26 week ultrasound, only 2d is available in the clinic. it was a quick ultrasound, the sono doesnt even talk nor give an explanation . unfortunately my ob is not around that day coz shes on call. anyways, pls help me, can this be a cleft lip? my friends are asking me whats with the black line on his upper lip. im cant help myself but worry much  :(  , ill be seing my ob next week .

It may be, but don't worry too much. Ultrasounds are full of shadows and distorted images. I may be nothing at all. If it is a cleft, they can fix it when baby is a few months old.

Yes, it does look like one, my cousin had a clft palatte at birth and he had a similar ultra sound, but cleft palettes are usually not super serious and are easy to repair.

If anything, it looks incomplete (not very severe), but it could also be a distortion on the ultrasound.  Did they give you any other pictures of the babies face? I know your first reaction is to worry, but try not to.  My 2 year old DD was born with a cleft lip and palate, and is doing great! It's difficult to see your child go through surgeries, but we're on the other end of it now, and I wouldn't trade that little girl for anything in the world!  Try not to worry about it too much!

I think it could be, my 10 year old was born with cleft lip and palate. Its amazing what the doctors can do, You can barely tell now. If you have any questions please let me know.
