anyone looking forward to BIRTH!?

Posted by   + Show Post
For the first time, i am happily looking forward to the birth of my baby!!

(found out last week, we are expecting #3!!)

With my first, well .. He was my first. Lol. I wasn't informed, wasn't looking forward to birth and ended up with a csection.

My second was an amazing home water birth, yes VBAC!! =)

I am SO EXCITED to welcome this baby earth side! I never knew i could so anxiously await labor and birth =)

Who else is looking forward to labor and birth??

Me. I am over pregnancy now. It was nice for  the first 1 1/2 trimesters. Now, I feel my hips are getting wider and I am more sore and my groin is always pulling and I am tired because I cannot get comfortable in bed any longer. At least there is no swelling (like I had with Big Brother), and my back doesn't hurt yet. I cannot wait to get this show on the road when I am closer  or past my due date (hopefully not a week or two over butI will take it). I went to 40w exactly with Big Brother and my MIL has this idea I am going to go to the 2w overdue waiting game.

Second time around does tend to be better. Your body knows what to do, you know what to expect, and you have a better idea what to expect like avoiding a certain pain medication or knowing what sort of counter pressure feels best. My first labor sucked but after my second i felt awesome.

The birth was one of the things that turned me off to ever wanting another baby. It was an absolutely horrible experience. It would be nice if I could go from being 9 mo's pregnant, to having baby in my arms, no labor/birth. I'm hoping that delivery was just a fluke, and this one will go much smoother, and I'll have better doctors.

I am looking forward to it! I am ready to take the pain of labor over the pain of being pregnant! I'm going "au natural" this time around but I am hopeful that I will have a much better experience than last time... lots more preparation on my part. I also just want my baby in my arms :)

Thanks, I'm more optimistic about it now since I know I can refuse things, but have a little fear.

I understand totally!!! There are 5 years between my first two. After my first birth experience i NEVER wanted to be pregnant again. That's why i made sure the second time went much better!

I hope you get the experience your looking for!!

Exactly! I'll know to say no to the ambien pill, make sure they check the position of the baby prior to delivery...i labored for 14 hours and should have had a c section because he was backwards, but it was too late for that....then to demand to see my baby and tell them not to give him sugar water instead of checking to see if I could feed him, I didn't get to see him for 7 hours and there was nothing wrong with him.

Wow, I'm glad to see I'm not alone. I thought I was crazy for looking forward to it. Even after things being difficult and not going quite how I wanted last time it was still an amazing experience.
