cervical length question during pregnancy

Hi Mamas! So my OB sent me at  weeks to see a fetal maternal specialist because she thought I was a good candidate for a cervical stitch, due to past  history of cervical cancer, miscarriages and preterm labor. I am now  22 weeks and one day . My cervix had gone from 3.5 to 2.  Every appointment it has gone down. The appointment before that was 2.3, before that 2.5 and so on. Now with my last child at this point my doctor had me on COMPLETE bed rest and no lifting. If fact he wanted me to stay on the hospital but I refused due to having a 3 year old at  home and a husband who worked full time. With that being said this doctor has done nothing. I haven't really  second guessed him because he is a doctor and i thought he knew best but when the ultrasound tech said its lower but you have the stitch so it should be ok. I told her I didn't and she gave me a weird look and said bed rest? Nope. Her reply was OH I will let the doctor know what I found. Hmmm. The nurse who gives me my weekly shots did the same thing last week when I told her my length. I will say I have stressed to him that I need to work as long as I can. Maybe that is why he is not doing anything? OR maybe there is nothing to worry about. I have no clue. I do work on my feet for 12+ hours as a nurse so I know I put stress on my body at least 3 days a week. My other days off I am at doctors appointment, kid appointments and basic other daily routines. I guess I am just wondering if anyone else has been this short and still gone full term or close to it with out intervention?
