Yes that is normal! There is absolutely nothing to do or see before that!

I went to my first prenatal apt at 10 1/2 wks. (That was with my Midwife) It took some searching but we found the heartbeat! My next is at 14 1/2 wks!

My latest first appointment was 14 weeks but I have had them as early as 6 weeks.

Even at 8 weeks there isn't much they can do. Some blood tests and taking your history but it is still early to even hear the baby's heartbeat at that point. Unless there is something wrong medically, there is no need to see anyone until much later in pregnancy.

My first was fourteen weeks, my second was between five and eight weeks (well, I went to the ER in severe pain not knowing I was pregnant and it was ectopic). My third, I was twenty weeks and I used a midwife. : )

I was 5 weeks, but I also have a long complicated history and at 10 weeks have already had 2 ultrasounds.

It is very normal not to be seen until 8- 10 weeks.
