Ladies who didn't find out the sex of baby?

Did you have an anatomy u/s? If so did you watch? Did you look away? How was the tech at avoiding showing you any gender pics?

This is the first time we aren't finding out. And I am super excited. But the closer I get to the 20 wk mark, the more nervous I am I will see something during the anatomy scan and find out. I will be so disappointed we found out early :( I am seriously considering opting out, but my Midwife highly suggests the anatomy scan just to be sure everything looks good for home delivery. I don't know, I am just so nervous. I think I am going to not watch at all and just ask the u/s tech to show me certain things like the upper body etc. So how did your u/s go and how good was the tech at keeping it secret?

when I had my 20 week the tech asked if I wanted to know before she went to the telling spots-I wanted to know, but if I didnt she said she would not tell me, and would tell me when to turn away so I didnt get any hints.

With our second we weren't going to find out, but baby moved and I saw that unmistakable penis. The tech never confirmed, but we knew.

THIS IS EXACTLY my concern :( I think I am just not gonna look LOL. I would rather have her take the still shots and turn the screen for me to see. Its that important to me to wait!

I'm pregnant with my second and at first I didn't want to find out the sex but as time went on I gave in and wanted to know but I wanted to have a gender revel party. So right before the Ultrasound I told her I didn't want to find out right then but I wanted her to write down the baby's sex and seal it up in an envelope. I looked at the screen while she was looking at the top half then before she when lower she told me to look away so I didn't find out that day...A few weeks later we had our party and found out its a boy!!

I'm really considering just not watching. I know we'll get pictures afterwards, and as cool as it was to see the baby on the screen while it was happening with my first, I'm also worried about accidentally seeing the money shot. If I had to choose the surprise of finding out at birth over unintentionally finding out early just to see the baby on the screen, I'd rather have the surprise.

I think this is where I am at. I would rather just not look. I am trying to figure out how to convince the Hubby not to look too LOL.

I had my anatomy scan at 20 weeks and told her we didn't want to know so she completely avoided that area. Last week (22 weeks) we had an ultrasound with a specialist for the first time, they did look just to make sure everything was ok down below so they just told us not to look. I will have another chance next month but they should be able to avoid the area.

I have wondered the same thing! I want to keep the next baby gender a surprise. But I'm good at reading ultrasounds. That and it seems so weird to have the big ultrasound and not look for gender.

babys gender is a suprise. My US tech had really quick reflexes so if baby moved when she was lower she moved the doppler thing really quick. But mostly she stayed high. I know you have basically decided not to look now but if that day you change your mind ask her to first do the face/ head and heart/chest/and possible arms and then let you know shes going to the tummy and such so you can look away. and to show you still pictures of them on the screen. My baby wanted to show off but the US tech was just that good (plus its my first so even if it popped up i doubt i would have recognized it). Good luck and congrats on the decision !

We didn't find out with our first and arent going to find out with this one ither. When we went in we said first thing we don't want to know so she told us going to find out lol away she went real quick to make sure everything was ok and then we could look again. It was so amazing not knowing and having my husband tell me when she was born. I highly recommend it.
