You've heard of delayed cord clamping but have you heard of lotus births?

Have you heard of lotus births?

Basicaly a lotus birth is giving birth to your baby and the placenta and not cutting the umbilical cord at all. You would then carry the placenta and the cord with you, until it dries up and falls off itself.

What do you think? Would you consider having a lotus birth?

You can read more about lotus bags here: Lotus Birth trend keeps umbilical cord and placenta attached to baby for days

I know someone who had one, but I didn't do it. We just delayed the clamping and encapsulated :)

There's no smell. It's usually wrapped in a cloth with herbs.

hmmm, never heard of that but I would have to say no! I bled for about 5 months after having my DD and had to have a DNC and it ended up being because I had some of the placenta still attached so I couldnt even imagine.

Yeah, that's just nasty and I don't see how that would even be considered natural. The smell.....*gag*
