As long as there's no bleeding, I think it's normal, I had really bad cramps with my first two boys. The doctor told me it was my uterus streaching for the first time and it had been several years between pregnancies, I think that's why it hurt the second time.

a nurse at the hospital today said that cramping can be worse if you don't drink enough water---so maybe try drinking more water?  I drink plenty but still had mild cramping
