I did with my first. sleep with a pillow between your thighs, do yoga or stretches, lots of walking, and warm baths with epsom salts to help soothe. also visiting the chiropractor helped mine a lot. Here's an article on the Psoas muscle which is often the problem with you're having that sharp hip pain and difficulty lifting the legs.
Oh and I should also mention that if your problem is actually the sacroiliac or sciatica pain, the stretches you would do to relive it are the same. (my SO is a fitness trainer and also trains rehabilitative fitness)
I've had similar problems. It would probably help to see a chiropractor.
