Hi everyone, I've noticed a lot of posts about your baby's genders. I think its great that you all get so excited and I am happy for you too. However, "Gender is a range of physical, mental, and behavioral characteristics distinguishing between masculinity and femininity" according to Wikipedia (I know, citing Wikipedia isn't super scholarly but we aren't posting on a university list-serv here).
This is just a gentle reminder that while your baby may be born with a certain set of genitals it does not automatically mean that the child's gender will match.
It's the sex of the baby, not the gender. A gender is grown into, developed, and cannot be labeled based on physical characteristics alone.
Congratulations to all the new Mommas regardless of the gender of their new babies!
