Do you prefer your children to be closer in age, or further apart?  Did you have them that way?

I have twins that are almost a year and I'll be having my 3rd baby in may 2014. I wanted my kids to be close in age even though it may be rough in the beginning ;)

We wanted ours no more than 2 years apart and they are 4 days shy of exactly 2 years! The first year is rough but Iran smooth sailing from than on.

Mine will be three years apart. I wanted it that way so the older one is a bit more independent when there is a new baby in the picture.

We wanted space between ours. Only one in diapers at a time, one at home. So DD is 13, DS is 4 and new baby is due in April.

We started trying when my oldest was about two months old and my kids are 7.5 years apart. I don't know what my ideal spacing would have been but clearly planning doesn't work for me anyway.

I had 3 in less than 2 years. We were not planning on twins the second time :)

I definitely would not have planned to have 3 so close and all in diapers at the same time, but hopefully it will end up good and they will be good friends.

I wanted them close to age. but it didn't happen that way. my 2 kids are 10 years apart in age. so far its working out well tho.

My first three are separated by 20 months each. I needed a break after that ;) three, three and under could get quite chaotic at times. There will be almost 3 years in between this baby and my youngest.
