Here's a bump because I plan on pumping as well and am curious to know myself.

I had to go through that with my youngest.

Talk to your baby's pedi. Let them know that you need a pump but that your insurance requires a script for one. Then you will have to find a medical supplier in your area that carries them and takes your insurance. Also know, most insurances only pay for rentals.

Be aware! Keep the parts from the hospital because insurance will not pay for those. But the medical supply company will most likely work with you and get yiu a pump that fits your parts. Because those pieces cost about $100.

My doctor faxed a script to the insurance company, stating that I planned on going back to work.
Within a week, UPS delivered a brand new Medela.

I don't know. My insurance gave me the number of a company who will mail me a pump as soon as baby is born. I didn't need a prescription or anything.

Was it your obgyn or the baby's doctor?
