Baby costs

Does anyone remember how much they ended up needing to pay for their delivery? I just found out what I'll owe to my birthing center and I'm pretty happy with it, but I want to know if it's more or less than a typical hospital delivery.

I'll owe my deductible of whatever is left at the time. Probably about $2500

No way! That's crazy. I had kaiser for my first (and so far only) pregnancy and had a 40.00 bill after everything. C-section, everything. Crazy.

We've switched insurance since then (we had to, unfortunately) and I'm terrified it'll cost something like that after having our next baby.

This was also for my prenatal care along with the hospital stay after baby.  They globally bill, so it is all together.

I'm still shocked. Well now I feel a lot better about mine. It's $870 for everything included.

Just a $20 copay with my first, I delivered at the hospital I worked, and with my second $1,500.

We will pay 20% of the bill, up to our out of pocket maximum, which is $3,750. So that, at the max.

I had a home birth with my first, and insurance covered it in full ($4200).  We didn't pay a penny.  I'm in the process of switching midwifes right now and waiting on the prior authorization to be approved by my insurance.  There's a chance they might decline it, and we'll end up paying around $1600.  It was approved to be paid in full with the first midwife, so hopefully there are no issues.  $0 verus $1600 is a lot of money.  :/
