if it is heavy snow I would skip it. You will be very sore afterwards and possible pull an abdomen muscle.

Do you have any teenagers in your neighborhood? If so, you could offer them $20 to shovel for you.

I always just shoveled and it it was heavy snow. I just did a bit at a time.  I only did a path on the sidewalk and to the mail box. My hubby would finish the rest when he got home from work or my neighbors were always willing to help out.

I wouldn't do it, but you could call your dr. to see what they recommend.  It sounds heavy and straining for the back.

Tell your DH to do it. He may "never shovel" but he needs to figure it out.
