My dh has me convicted that because his son was 10lb baby that our daughter will be too. When I have my first daughter she was 7lbs. is it true that because his kid was big means our together will be?

No. It typically goes by the mother.

I was told it was a combo of both parents in terms of genetics PLUS the mother could potentially do a lot to increase baby's size by diet, undiagnosed GD, etc.

Both DH and I were mid 7lbs but they think my son was a missed GD baby and my dd was a GD baby and this one is as well.

I think it's a combo of genetics and mom in determining the size of baby. My son was eight pounds nine oz at birth. My husband was seven pounds an really early and I was seven pounds two weeks late. His family in general has bigger babies but they are a tall family while my family genetics are average measurements.

I wouldn't think so. My husband and I were both born little and just had a baby together and he is huge! You just never really know.

No, baby will be around what you were and your hubby was.

I have no idea honestly. I was 9lbs 5oz. DH was 8lbs 12oz. We were both born right around 40 weeks. Our 2 kids were 7lbs and 7lbs 4oz. They were 1 day early and 4 days late. So our kids were decently smaller then we were.

But to answer your question......I don't think it matters how big his other kids are.

I didn't think it mattered what his son weighed.
I know he was 9lbs an I was 1lb but I was born at 27weeks.
