I was talking with my husband today and I don't think it has completely sank in that we only have 3 months until baby girl is here. We really need to start shopping around and buy the big items. I need suggestions on a car seat that will fit in my Dodge Journey between a booster seat and my 11 year old. Thanks!

Chicco KeyFit 30 is my infant carrier choice. It's trim and AWESOME in so many ways.

A Chico Keyfit is your best option for an infant seat. A Radian is the best choice if you go straight to a convertible.

We got a Graco snugride 30 which outgrown well before 30 lbs or 30 inches because of hip size.  Our convertible is pretty big.

Chicco keyfit 30, snugride 30 and onboard 35 by safety first are all pretty narrow infant seats that fit the average newborn well.
So far as convertibles, one of the narrowest that fits small babies well is the combi coccoro, though it is usually outgrown rf around 2 for the average child. Diono radians are great long lasting seats that are pretty narrow, but you will likely need the smaller strap sets which you can get from diono.
