Evening Primrose Oil?

Is anyone or has anyone tried taking evening primrose oil during pregnancy? My cousin took it during her pregnancy and has told me to start taking it orally now and possibly internally starting at 37 weeks. I was just curious about what everyone here thought. Should I check with my OB before taking it? Thanks for your help!

I tried it with my last pregnancy, and it didn't work for me.  You could talk with your OB first to see what they recommend too.

I've never tried it.

Check with your OB. I wouldn't recommend it.

I'm interested in trying it, along with Red Raspberry Leaf Tea but want to ask my OB about it. A lot of Midwives swear by it.

I spoke to my OB about it and she said that she doesn't believe that it does anything but that there was no harm in trying it so I have been using it for a couple weeks. I was 1.5cm dilated on Tuesday and will be checked again on Thursday.

The only pregnancy I didn't use it, I went six days past my due date. Possibly a coincidence, but I think not.

Didn't try it orally but did internally from 38 weeks on with my last pregnancy and it didn't work at all.

I tried it with DD4 and I don't think it made any difference.
