that's a very personal preference...we felt 3 years was good, this baby will be coming 2 months before my kids turn 6 and 3...we tried to go for 3 years on all of them.
Quoting FPE.903: My dd is 3 and I'm pregnant. I wish it would have happened a little sooner. Maybe 2 years apart. IMO

For my husband and I, I think 3-4 years apart will be perfect. We are planning on trying for #2 when my son is 2.5-3.
I would love kids that are 2 years apart, however my husband is only home 2 days a week and it would be extremely hard to have a young toddler and an infant by myself.
I'm also high risk for severe pregnancy complications so having them so close together wouldn't be a good idea.
It's a personal preference. I, personally, LOVE kids being close in age. I have a 12 year old daughter. When she was about a year and a half old we started trying for another one. It took 7 years of trying to get pregnant. Our kids are 12, 4, 3, 1 and I am 12 weeks pregnant. I have always wanted 4 little ones, so for me, we started trying to conceive when our babies were 9-14 months old. The gap is perfect *for me*!
I think all age gaps work out. :-) My first two are 21 months apart and it is perfect. My second and third are a month shy of 3 years apart and it's perfect. This one is due on my third's 2nd birthday and I love that they will be pretty close in age. :-)
Whenever you're family is ready for a 2nd. Personally I love the 2 or less age gap (my DD1&2 are 20 months apart).
My 2 girls are 27 months apart and I love the age gap so Id say between 2 and 2.5 years is perfect
