how long does it take for stitches to heal

I had a vaginal birth I ripped a little so I had to get stitches. The midwife that delivered me said I didn't rip very deep just on the surface whatever that means. Its been two weeks since I gave birth and its killing me. Do I really have to wait six weeks to heal and how long does it take for my cervix to close.

I'm a month post partum, and my stitches have healed completely. If they are still hurting, maybe call and get them checked out. Mine stopped being painful by 2 weeks.

I had a terrible tear with my first that got infected and took 8w to heal. My last 2 kids were smaller tears and took a couple weeks. Give it another week and then maybe call to make sure it's healing appropriately
