Small baby.. Worried.

Im seeing an OBGYN and a specialist. The specialist is checking me to make sure the baby develops correctly and that i dont delivery early because my previous baby was born at 35 weeks. The last 2 check up with the specialist I've been told the babies arms and legs look small. So they did extra test for Down syndrome and other things. The test results were negative. So this visit they took extra sonogram pics to check my placenta. She said that everything looks fine. They just want to double check because sometimes the placenta does not provide the baby with enough nutrients. I like that they tell me everything but at the same time it makes me worry. I'm only 5 FT tall. Both of my other kids take after dad who is 5 FT 9. I never had any other doctors tell me they were small. Maybe this baby just takes after me(sux) but i dont know how to take the dr telling me that her head, arms, legs are ahort. So lost and sad and just emotional. All they told me is they will monitor me and to eat more protein maybe that helps.

I'm not really sure both of my babies were little. My dd was 5.11 and 18 in.

Two of my three were small the other one was average. This one will be small.

#1 6lb7oz 19in

#2 7lb6oz 19.5in

#3 5lb7oz 18in

We are expecting this one to be closer in size to #1.

Nothing wrong with a small baby :)

I think they are worried more about the length of the baby. I kind of just wish she dint give me updates and only told me things i needed to know like a confirmed abnormality.

My last baby his legs were consistently measuring 12 weeks behind. In all ultrasounds done in and out of office. When he was born they were normal. Sometimes ultrasounds are a blessing and a curse.

Have you told them you prefer to only know about confirmed abnormalities?

I'm pint sized and my SO is a small guy too. The OB told me that we would have a 5-6lb baby at best with our daughter. She was 7lbs 8oz and 19" which is perfectly average. They can be 1-3lbs off in guessing size and that's very significant for such a small being. And it's just that... A guess.

If they haven't found anything wrong then assume the best. Some of us are tiny. There's nothing wrong with that!

My husband and I are both smaller.. My now 3yo dd always measured behind on ultrasounds, was 6lb1oz at birth & only 27lbs now.
