Ok ladies my bf and I have decided on a name for our baby FINALLY lol (34weeks) not letting the 'public' know yet but now we need to figure out the spelling.

 Freya
 or
 Freyja

it is the norse goddess of love, fertility, and war
the spelling with the j is the real spelling of the goddess and how my bf wants it. I prefer without the j. What is your opinion??

I'd go with the j if that's how the goddess spelling is. I try to stay true to origination if I'm going to go with a name like that.

I like it without the j. If you add the J everyone will misspell it. Lol

If the j is silent, i would leave it out.

Without the j is the standard English spelling, so I'd go with that. With the J, she'll have to spell it out constantly. No, that's Freyja with a 'j'.

While the "j" is sticking to the correct spelling, I agree with PP, it's probab;y best to use standard English, since she is growing up here. So, I say, no "j".

I would use the spelling with the J in it without question, especially if you're using it as a mythological reference.

This.

And honestly, it will likely be misspelled either way.
