Should I Be Worried?? Cuz I Am...

If any of you have read my last journal entry...then you've already read this first part I'm posting...but I was just wondering if I should be worried...

Well, yesterday was my last bi-monthly doctors appointment. Now they will be every week until I have Kaelan. Along with that appointment every week I will have to get a number of sonograms...

sigh...next Thursday they are going to do a sonogram monitering the development of my baby because I'm 36 weeks and he is underwieght. My doctor said they are going to rate his development on a scale and if he doesn't score good or if it looks like his development is slowing down, they are going to induce me. Then of course if that doesn't work, they are going to have to cut me open and take him. I'm really scared about all this and freaked out. I mean, Billy and I are both small people so he could just be a small baby...but I have a week to wait and see what's going on for sure...which is a week to worry and worry and worry and freak myself out. Which is probably what I will do because that's what I do best...worry.

Oh yeah, and they said my baby was about 4lbs 13oz...which is better than some people I've met who had perfectly fine babies...but still...my doctor said that's what he should have been close to around 33 weeks...and that he feels i need a sonogram EVERY week until I have him just to make sure everything is fine...I dont' know what to think, this is my first time around with this whole thing...

that is just an ESTIMATE... the doctor did not tell you that it can be off by 15-20% either way. they told me my son was about 8 pounds by ultrasound, less than 48 hours later he was born at 10 pounds. my best friend was pregnant at the same time, and they told her that her son was 3lbs 10 oz and 2 weeks later he was 7 pounds 7 ounces. you should be fine. relax and enjoy!

I hope so...thanks...it's still just got me a little worried, I don't want anything to be wrong. I am rather small though for how far along I am. There are several girls that are 28 weeks and not being pregnant are about the same size as me...but they are bigger than me...

The same thing happened to me...my daughter was measuring small for my gestation and they induced me at 38 weeks..  She was 5lbs 9oz.  but my doctor and the specialist he sent me to both said when they did the sono that every doctor will get a diffierent estimate when doing the sonos...so dont worry.  And your baby will be just fine....mine is!  She is now 6 months old and as tall as a 9 month old!!  So dont worry..my daughter was in NICU was 2 weeks, only to learn how to nipple feed.  So prepare yourself if that happens but know that its for the best and everything is going to be okay.

OH! and by the way its REALLY important to know that its nothing you did if your baby is born small....i was smaller than everyone else to but im only only 5'3 and 110 lbs...of course im going to have a small baby...but its all genetics...maybe you just make little babies..its all normal. AND I went back to pre pregnancy size FAST having a small baby!!  : )
