Does anyone know?

I worry about everything I put in my mouth for fear it will harm the baby or cause birth defects, it seems like just about everything anymore has some type of warning and it worries me so I was just wondering if anyone had a better list of knew better what we could and could not eat while pregnant?

For instance...

can we eat popcorn?(I never thought nuts/kernels were allowed...yet I have been craving popcorn so badly)

can we eat fish? (like shrimp included in pasta or fish sticks, salmon, or even tuna helper?)

Yes, popcorn is fine and my doctor said fish is ok as long as it is only twice a week.  Sushi however is not recommended along with rare meat.  I hope I helped!

I eat at least one bag of popcorn everyday!  The only reason not to eat nuts while your pregnant, including peanut butter, is if nut allergies run in your immediate family.

You need to limit your fish to two servings a week.

Don't Eat/drink:

  • Sushi (or any raw fish)
  • Fish with a high mercury content (e.g. fish from the Great Lakes)
  • More than 3 cups of coffee or other caffeinated beverages a day
  • Green tea (interferes with absorbtion of folic acid)
  • Soft cheeses (brie, etc)
  • Lunch meat (every once in awhile is fine, but it can have Listeria)
  • Uncooked or undercooked hotdogs
  • Sprouts (high incidence of Listeria)
  • alcoholic beverages
  • raw eggs - no cookie dough :(
  • undercooked meat (rare steaks, etc)
