Do you have to be dilated a certain amount before they will induce labor?

I dont think so.  I wasnt dialated with my son when they induced me.  it depends on the circumstances i guess. whether they can wait or not.

no. i got induced. it was an over night processes for me. i had to send the night at the hospital. First the put a thing in me called a "shoe lace". It stayed in me for maybe around 8 hrs or more. then the started at actually induced my labor. I started to go in labor around 3:30pm and started to push at 4:30 and my son as born at 5:10pm

It depends on the doctor and why you are being induced.
