I knew there was something wrong with eating this kind of tuna. So now i'm freaking out because I did research about it just now and everything says that it is HIGH in mercury.
I don't even know wat to do. I eat tha big cans(12oz) too.
I've eaten this kind of tuna 3 times this week.
Sum websites say not to eat more than 6oz. a week and sum say a month.
I don't want something to be wrong with my baby now.
I read that mercury can cause damage to tha baby's brain and nervous system. I'm 34 weeks pregnant on monday should I sill be concerned?
I don't see my doctor until tha 14th.
Any of you ladies eat albacore tuna during your pregnancy and your baby came out fine?
I think i'm gonna bust into tears right now. Any help or anything would be great thanks!!

your dr should have let you know that you shouldnt have been eating it in excess.. but if you are really having a concern you shoulkd REAllly calll your dr to ask... its always best to talk to your dr about it... even if you just call... he/she may want you to come in..
I ate a lot of tuna before becoming pregnant...and even now I'm constantly craving tuna melt sandwiches but rarely eat them. I'd call your doctor up and let him/her know your concern and my guess is...they'll ease your mind. I try not to stress too much about this stuff...I mean if you think about it...when all of our moms were pregnant with us, they didn't know they shouldn't eat tuna, smoke cigarettes, take vitamins...all those things that now we are supposed to do, and we all turned out fine. So I wouldn't stress too bad, but if you are, call your doc!
I love Albacore too. I wouldn't stress too much about what you have eaten already, it will probably be just fine... I try not to eat it more than once a week right now...maybe just try to cut back now, you didn't know before, so don't be sad...((hugs)) You could have done much worse. It will be okay :)
Well ust think of it this way, any kind of fish contains omega 3 fatty acids which arew WONDEFUL for your baby in the third trimester. Don't worry about what you've eaten already, it will just make you stress which is not good for the baby. What to ecpect says that a 6oz can a week is just fine. I myself used to eat one can a week in my first trimester.
