My sister heard her baby's heartbeat for the first time today. She is 10 weeks along and the doctor said the heartrate was at 171, I have NEVER heard of it being that fast without the baby having complications. Please let me know if this sounds normal to you!!!
Could it be two heartbeats? Like twins!

"What should my baby's fetal heart-rate be?
The
normal fetal heart rate is between 110 to 180 beats per minutes (BPM),
but can vary. Fluctuations of the fetal heart rate (usually associated
with fetal movement) during different periods of the day are common and
often rise above 160, going as high as 180 to 190 and are considered
normal. If you have questions or concerns about your baby's fetal heart
rate always direct them to your healthcare professional."

no need to worry...thats an excellent heartbeat..my baby had that heartbeat around that week..the baby is perfect and healthy
baby's heart rate peaks around 8-12 weeks. i had an ultrasound at 8 weeks and my baby's heart rate was 188. after that it's always been in the 150-160 range. it's normal.

thats just a wivestail... me and my sisters boys were in the 160s to 170s...
and her girl was 130...
but my other sister boy were all different ranging from 120-170
but according to the wivestail i think they say thats a girl...
but ALL the wivestails said mine was a girl and mines definitely a boy
Quoting AshleyKay1983:Thank you so much! That greatly relieves my fears! Is it a girl because so fast? My boys were 144 and my girl was 150!
