Ok i'm needing a list of things that i may have left off my list. I have friends asking me what we still need and i can't think of ne thing off the top of my head. Here's a list of the things we already have
2 car seats-with bases
stroller
playpen, with bassinet and changing table
crib
bouncy seat
mini swing
clothes
2 bags of diapers
baby book
wash clothes
soap, lotion, diaper rash cream
brush, comb, tooth brush
nail clipping and groomer set
what else do i need that i will need within 2 weeks of baby being born
After reading i remembered other things i have bought.
i have a boppy pillow, breast pump, baby wash clothes and baby towels. I don't need a baby tub i will use the sink then they will bathe with me.
As to the other poster who said baby shower! my baby shower was today. It was totally embarrassing only 2 people showed up. I got some really great things thou that i really wanted!
I'm totally set on clothing for the first few months i have 127 outfits/onesies/gowns those types of things in the baby's closet.
And sad thing is i'm not new to this i have a 2 and a half year old son. but i was so unprepared when i brought him home....i'm totally over compensating but i'm not dealing with it again! so i'm just trying to cover all of my bases
Just a few things i could think of..
pacifire (if you are going to use one)
diaper bag
blankets/crib sheets
burp cloths
baby bottles/breast pump...
is baby sleeping in crib from day 1 or in bassinette...
i prefer to put my baby in a bassinette for first few months then switch to crib..and not the bassinette on the play pen, a portable one that you can push around the house =)
yea gripe water, dont forget that
I*m 17 years old;; 23 weeks pregnant with Sciatica, Placenta Previa, and a Group B Strep infection and I still LOVE being pregnant!;; Im a survivor of Domestic Violence;; Im going to go to college to be a nurse in the NICU;; I love who i am, if you like it or not! <3
As a mom of four I would have to say lots of diapers, if some one is throwing you a shower you could suggest that they also do a diaper drive -and all that is when they send out the invites they put a note or piece of paper in with the invitation and ask that they bring one package of size 1 diaper (you could even put the name brand of diapers you want on the note)and a package of wipes. When I host baby showers I always do this as most people don't think to bring diapers for the new parents plus everyone that I have ever thrown a shower for has thanked me for months as that is the last thing you want to worry about when you get home from the hospital.
Example of what the note might say:
We are having a diaper drive for the mom to be please bring a package of size 1 diapers and be entered into a drawing for a prize (everyone loves to get a prize at a baby shower)
I always put a couple newborns and size 1 but did a lot of 2-5's - trust me you will need them in the middle of the night when you ran out of that last diaper and your thinking I'm not going to the store right now you have that package sitting right there in the closet.
Hope this helps and congrats on the baby.
maybe a baby monitor if you live in a house --- its easier to hear the baby if your in an apartment, make sure to also get a thermometer. Along with the clothing don't forget the hats and socks... and the swaddler blankets. Maybe something that plays faint music to put your baby to sleep (thats not necessarily a need, but its always something good) Umm bottles and bottle cleaner/bottle brush, maybe a pacifier (totally optional).... if your breastfeeding you might like a boppy, it carries you baby in a comfortable spot next to you and maybe some breast pads for yourself... high chair & car shade for the car (you wont need those two until like the summer though, so you can hold that off) baby bag...oh and also wipes.. towels for after a shower, and baby bath tub (but they say not to give a new born a shower EVERYDAY)... my doctor suggested a humidifier in the room (i got one but barely even used it with my first son)... mmm i think i got everything covered lol
HEY WE ARE DUE DATE BUDDIES =) don't forget to bring your camera to the hospital ;) hope i helped somewhat !
How about a baby wash tub? At first you'll be giving the baby washcloth baths till the umbilical cord dries up but it's helpful to have. I had one of those little plastic tubs that came with the cloth hammack type thingie so I didn't have to worry about him slipping out of my grasp or anything.
