Purple Nipples??

Everytime I pump the tip of my nipples turns purple. The breastfeeding clinic said it's because I'm setting it too high but I always put it at the lowest setting and they've ALWAYS turned purple. They do get tender and things like that but go back to normal after I pump.

Any thoughts on this??

Mine always did that, too. I guess it is just because of the crazy strong suction from the pump! As long as you aren't bleeding or cracking, and they go back to normal, I wouldn't worry about it.

mine did that and they said not to worry, they said it is like a hicky, suction creates the dark spot... they go back to normal... dont worry unless they start to get more beat up..

I get the same thing!! As long as your not cracking and bleeding your good to go.. Apply a slight bit of pressure afterwards while your drying, and it goes away! simple smile
