Okay so this is baby number 2 for us. With our first daughter i never felt braxton hicks til the day before i went into labor. an to be honest i cant remember what they feel like. I have been having a lot of pressure i guess you would say on my stomach. and my stomach gets very tight an very hard. i was thinking it was just the baby pushing really hard against me. but now im not so sure. it doesnt hurt. i know what contractions feel like. i felt those lol. but im just wondering if maybe some of you could explain to me how you feel with braxton hicks an maybe it will help me figure out what im having! thanks

definitely sounds like BH to me...

So long as they aren't regular and go away if you eat or change positions, your body is just practicing :)

there probably just BH. but i have contractions alot (i have preterm labor) and mine actually hurt, it tightens hard and it happens with full lower back pain. but mine i can't even stand up straight and its very uncomfortable. so if your don't really hurt then everythings fine.

***ThinkThe location of the pain is another factor in telling the difference between real and false labor contractions. Braxton Hicks contractions are usually confined to the abdomen. Real contractions may radiate from the back to the front.  about your pain level. When you experience Braxtom-Hicks contractions they usually do not hurt. Some women in late pregnancy describe Braxton-Hicks contractions as starting to get painful. However they are usually only uncomfortable. Real contractions that signal the start of labor tend to be much more painful.

Realize what brought on the contractions. Braxton-Hicks contractions may start with an increase in activity, after having sex or when your bladder is full. Some women will start having Braxton-Hicks contractions around the second trimester of their pregnancy.

Time the contractions. If you are in labor contractions will begin to come at regular intervals. They will increase in frequency. Braxton-Hicks contractions are irregular and do not have a pattern.
3
Change positions or go for a walk. Braxton-Hicks contractions may subside if you move around a bit. Real labor will not subside with activity. Changing positions will not stop a contraction if you are in labor.
4
Determine if the contractions are increasing in intensity. Real labor contractions will gradually become more intense. Braxton-Hicks contractions subside after a few minutes but they do not tend to get stronger.

hope this helps

I was going through the same thing. Im 24 weeks 6 days and I was having BH really bad about a week ago and I was admitted into labor and delivery because I was dehydrated and having BH... But its normally nothing.. Just as long as you dont have more than 6-8 an hour they're fine. Hope everything feels better!
