If you are Rh - than you should have the shot twice, once before labor and once after.

The first is given around 28 weeks during pregnancy. You need both if youre rh negatives

How do you know if you're postive or negative?  I had my last doctor's appointment at 26 weeks and my doctor isn't seeing me again until 32 or 33 weeks.  That's a bit long but that's what they put on the paper and I asked the receptionist about it and she said that's when the doctor wants to see me.  I guess the doctor isn't concerned?

They tested you for a bunch of things right after your 1-2 appointment. One test was seeing if your blood was + or -. If you were - they would have said so.

I had to get the shot but luckily didn't have to get after my son was born because he too was the same blood type as me.. He will be 7 this summer and not a thing wrong.

Did you have your glucose drink yet? You're supposed to have that at approximatly 28 weeks... So wouldn't you have to see your doctor for that? I know I go to my 26 week appt this week, and was already informed that I would be coming back in two weeks to take the glucose test..

I needed the rhogam shot also. You get the first one around 27 weeks I believe so that if the baby is RH posiitive(I am negative) then your body won't fight off the baby and then once the baby is born if he/she is positive you get the shot again. My daughter was negative so I only got it once. With my miscarriage I got it afterwards just in case the blood mixes and that baby was positive.

If you are RH - byt he 28th week you should of gotten your Rhogam shot, then again after delivery.  This is very important so your body does not attack him.  Without this shot your body can think he is a hostile body and attack him.  Your doctor should of told you this and made you get the shot a lot sooner.  Please get the shot it could affect your baby.
