Not gaining weight at the end of pregnancy?

I had my checkup today and I've gained a total of 37 pounds and I'm 34 weeks pregnant every 4 weeks Ive been putting on anywhere from 4 to 9 pounds and todays appt I only put on 1 pound in 3 weeks?  Should I be worried because they say the last couple weeks the baby should be putting on a pound a week and now I'm not gaining.   The Dr said it was fine but I'm still concerned. Anyone else have this happen?

If your doctor does not seem concerned I would not be too worried. I could only eat small meals in my last trimester with my son, because it was so uncomfortable. My son was kicking me all the time and I  had to eat snacks all day and my weight gain slowed down. But you only need an extra 300 calories a day throughout pregnancy so if you are getting that I would not worry too much. I am worried because I have bad morning sickness and it is hard for me to hold down any food at all sometimes. I can't wait to get into the 2nd trimester, won't feel so tired and sick all the time.

Thank you, I hope you start feeling better.  I know the dr said not to worry but its hard I just don't want the baby to be underweight my son weighed over 8 pounds, so it just makes me nervous this pregnancy is so different than my first one.

totally okay! the last couple months I only put on anywhere from 1-3lbs...I think it's normal!

And I would say you're doing excellent with the 37 you have!

as long as the baby is gaining there really isnt anything to worry about. With my last two pregnacys i walked outta the hospital smaller then i was when i got preggers. My daughter is was 45 lbs lighter and with my last son tyler it was 70 lbs lighter.

Only wanting a Healthy baby but Pink would be nice to even out our Family!

Im 28/4 today & I had put a total of 12 pounds on during my pregnancy & then recently lost 9. So Ive only really gained 3 pounds through this whole thing. My Dr said not to worry. As long as Im not losing more than I put on everything should be fine. My specialist told me that just because it doesnt show you are gaining weight, doesnt mean the baby is not healthy, it just means your body is sustaining the baby well as your normal weight, unless you were underweight to begin with. He did say if you get below your pre-pregnancy weight, then they start to worry.

Yup, nothing to worry about :) I'm at last week I was 37weeks and I went for my weekly check up with my OB and I lost a pound. It happens during the last few weeks of pregancy. Totally normal, either you stop gaining weight or you lose it. It's because the baby's getting ready to come.

Congratulations ^o^

You yourself might be losing weight as your baby is gaining it, so you are leveling out. If the baby appears to be growing (which I assume to be the case since your doctor is not worried) then I would leave it at that. It's getting warmer out, so every bit of movement you do is going to burn more calories than it did all winter. If it's something you are worried about, then make sure you are getting plenty of protein and omega 3s. Keep your diet as strict as you can so that everything coming in is good for baby.

I am currently 34 weeks pregnant with my second child and I weighed in today at 172lbs which was also the same weight I have had since I was 28 weeks pregnant. I was kind of happy at first because I was not gaining alot anymore and 172lbs was my last weigh in b4 I had my first child but now that it has been 6 weeks later and Im still at 172lbs Im getting concerned. I went to my doctors today and mentioned my weight not changing in 6 weeks and he asked if I changed my diet and was eating right etc, and the only thing I did change was earlier in this pregnancy I was drinking alot of milk, pop, juice etc and next to no water and about a month ago I started drink the 8 eight ounce glasses of water daily and my doctor said that that was the reason and that the baby is probably gaining what she needs while I am simply flushing out all the junk from my body, which balences out my wight with baby. He said he wasnt worried about it becuz feeling the baby in my tummy was of average size and so were the measurements of my stomach. He did say that when I go for my 36 weeks check up if my weight is the same or has decreased that it would be a good idea to issue an ultrasound just to make sure everything is how it should be. I know what you mean tho even tho your doctor says not to worry "Your a mom now, its your job to worry and be protective of your baby" Id say wait two weekd and it you are still stable in your weight ask about having an ultrasound done to see what little bundle is doing in there. Good Luck and take care.
