Why is my belly so big already? Only 23 Wks

I'm 23 wks pregnant and my belly is significantly bigger than my friend who is just 20 weeks.  My belly has been quite big for a while now.  I have heard that I'm bigger because this is my 4th pregnancy.  And even felt the baby move earlier than she did.  I know that EVERYONE is different.  However, this will be the first that I have carried this far.  3 previous loses.  Has anyone else heard that even though you haven't carried full term, that could be the reason why I'm showing so much more and earlier?  My friend and I are about the same size, and she hardly has a bump!  Sorry no pics, lost the USB cord to my camera.  I'm still in my pre prego jeans, but it's quite obvious that I am pregnant!

Big babies don't run in my family.  When I had my ultrasound, the baby is measuring only at 15.5 ounces, which is normal.  I've seen other pictures on here of other mothers who are actually bigger than I am and only 22 weeks, but they have had multiple pregnancies.  I'm not as big as some of them, but having a large baby does concern me because this is the first I will actually give birth too!

I'm 5'7", and my friend is about the same size.  I just found it odd how close we are in our pregnancy, but yet, we look like we are months apart!

You may just be going to have a big baby... I am only 23 weeks too but I am the same size as one of my friends who is 35 weeks but my first baby was 9lb 4oz which is pretty big. I am scared because I have heard that the second is always bigger than the first and I had a VERY hard time pushing the first one out. lol P.S. Big babies don't run in my family either

Oh my god are you serious? I heard they're smaller...I have one due in January and my first was 10.5 and I'm working really, really, REALLY hard on a VBAC.... don't say these sort of things!!! :(

Ya know...maybe you're retaining a lot of fluid or you're just really bloated. I was MASSIVE but I had the ten pounder and severe preeclampsia.... how's your blood pressure?

Well like you said everyone is different. Is this her first pregnancy? I am sorry about your losses, but my guess would be that is why you are showing bigger than her because your  body is already accustom to having a baby inside. But it could also be your baby is bigger than hers, or hers has not gone through a growth spurt yet or something. There really could be a million reasons, but as long as you are okay and she is okay I wouldn't worry about it. I am 21 weeks and people have just now started asking me about being pregnant (people who wouldn't know otherwise) but you can see by my avatar that I am very noticably pregnant.

My friend and I were only 2 weeks apart with our boys. She looked months ahead of me the whole way through. She did gain over 2x the amount I gained  though (I gained only 20 lbs). I thought her son was going to be huge, but her son was just under 7 lbs. She gained less with her second though, that baby was only a few ounces smaller.
