Pregnancy Induced Hypertension PIOG

Does anyone else go through this? This is my 4th time and it's not caused by preeclampsia. Back in 2004 I went in to 32week checkup and my blood pressure was high. They had me lie on left side for an hr and rechecked it and it was down so I went home. At my 34 week apt again it was high. An hr later it was still high so they sent me to the hospital. Then they were able to bring it down. They kept me overnight but discovered when they did blood work my potassium level was really low. So they gave me a IV of it and sent me home. The next night I started having dizzy spells so I called the doc and sent me back to the hospital. My blood pressure was through the roof. They were about to induce me but then it started coming back down with some rest. They kept me overnight and discovered once again my potassium was very low. The OB doc had no clue as to what was going on. They gave me another IV and prescribed me potassium supplements. A few days later I had to go to another appt. Again my blood pressure was high. They put in the hospital and kept there. At 36.5 they ended up inducing me b/c my blood pressure was staying to high even on my side.

Then in 2005 I was pregnant again. I think I was around 32 to 34 weeks I was so weak I couldn't even pick up my foot high enough to get up the front steps. One night I was feeling so bad so I had soaked in the bath but then I was stuck I couldn't even get out the tub. I finally managed but I was breathing really hard and couldn't catch my breath. At this point I went to the emergency room. They put me on a bed and monitored my heart for a few hrs. I went to sleep. Next thing I know I was being woke up being told something was wrong with my heart and I had to have an x ray. They did all kinds of test on my heart and found out that my potassium levels were deathly low. So after 3 days in the hospital they left me go but then I had to start seeing a heart dr. I had to take the potassium and magnesium supplements and go through having high blood pressure that was brought down with rest for the rest of my pregnancy. At 38 weeks the doc went ahead and induced me. I'm always fine after the baby is born. Potassium normal, blood pressure normal.

2007 I was pregnant again. This time I had to go to new drs. b/c I had done moved far away. At about 30 weeks pregnant I was feeling that same horrible weakness so I told the dr that my potassium was low and it needed to be checked. He treated me like I was real idiot. But he checked it anyway. Next day they call telling me to go to the hospital cause it was pretty low. So then here we are all over again going through this problem and this dr. sends me to a kidney dr. Kidney Dr doesn't understand why this his happening either. But he ends up having me take 4 potassium pills a day. What really gets me is every trip I made to the hospital my blood pressure was high, every time I seen the kidney dr it was high, every time I stopped several pharmacies and checked in their machines it was high but no once was it ever high at the drs. office I was going to. 2 days before my due date they induced my labor.

Now here I am pregnant again I chose to stay at the drs. office for one reason only. They went through it with me before so you would have thought they would know how to handle it again. Wrong. At 24 weeks I was having some pain and I thought I was having a kidney infection or something so I made a trip to the local hospital (not the ones my OB drs. are at) my blood pressure was not to to bad but high --/90. The pain must have been just ligament pain but while I was there I asked them to check my potassium level. It was a little low. From the advice of a dr at my drs. office I started taking 1 over the counter potassium supplement a day. I was fine till about 28 weeks. I started feeling weak in the evening so I started taking 2 a day. At first it worked. But not for long. The weekend before my 30 week apt I upped my dosage to 3 a day and it still wasn't working. On Monday I went to the dr. (sadly I had to see a nurse) I had to explain everything to her once again I was treated stupid and this nurse never seems to like anyone talking to her period and she can't answer no questions either. She sent me to have labs done so they could check my potassium. Well the day before this I searched online and found out soda can cause potassium depletion in heavy amts. I was a heavy soda drinker and I have been since I was a kid. That very day was the last day I drink soda. (I know, I know I'm not suppose to be drinking while pregnant anyway but I did every single last pregnancy)

On Thursday I called the Drs office b/c I had yet to hear back about my labs. They said my potassium was 2.6 it suppose to be at 3.5. and they just told me to continue to take 3 over the counters a day. Why they didn't prescribe me any of the strong medicine is beyond me. So they tell me they will send me to a specialist and someone should be calling me any day. Ok so I'm really worried at this point b/c you can die from it getting to low and I feel like they are playing with me life here. So I go to the local hospital to have it checked again to make sure it has gotten alot lower and all. Blood pressure was really high ---/103. It came down with rest and my potassium level came back 2.8 so it actually got better yay. So I don't know if this is b/c I had been eating 4 bananas a day plus the 3 pills or b/c I stopped drinking coke. So on Monday I call a local kidney dr and make an appt. On Tues someone calls from my drs office telling me that I have an appt on Wens morning at a specialist. I was like well I already made myself an appt with the kidney dr and I have an appt tomorrow afternoon. They argued with me b/c this OB specialist is where I needed to be going. Ok. so whatever I plan on keeping both appts. Wens. morning I go to OB specialist. The check my blood pressure and it was 150/101. They give me an ultrasound and say everything looks fine. They check my pressure again at this time it was 144/108. They called my dr. and sent me to the hospital. I had to cancel my kidney dr. appt. At the hospital as long as I'm on my left side my blood pressure was at least in the 80 somethings with bottom number. If they took it on my back or sitting up it was really high. So they sent me home and the dr. prescribes me 1 potassium pill a day (much stronger dosage than over the counter) My levels were then 3.2. So Yay for the first time ever they are coming up slowly but surely. Due to no soda or me pumping as much potassium in my body as I could through bananas, tomatoes, veggie juice fruits etc. IDK lol.

On Monday I go back to dr. same dr I saw at hospital. First he is going to argue with me about not seeing a kidney dr about this after they are the ones who made me cancel my dang appt and never even told me to see a kidney dr to start with. Then he is going to sit right there and ask me what I'm doing for the potassium and I told him I was taking the 1 pill a day he prescribed me and he is going to argue with me about he didn't prescribe it. OMG I was like man I done with BS right here. So he sent me to have labs again and I'm suppose to go to the kidney dr. (I now have an appt. for tomorrow) But check this as usual they check my blood pressure and I asked what it was lady said it was 117/70 I just laughed and shook my head. After I left drs. office I stopped at Kroger and checked it was 155/108. I hate to do this so late but I don't think I'm going back to that office again. I think I'm going to make an appt with a local dr. I already knew that if I do go into spontaneous labor I'm gonna have to go the hospital here anyway b/c I have 2 hrs labors. Last thing I need to be doing is trying to make a 45 min drive. And I need a drs. office that knows how to check blood pressures. Something seems so off about that place when they do it. They do it really fast and they don't snug arm cuff around your arm what so ever. It's so dern loose you could shake it off when they have pumped with air. Would you change drs and has anyone else been through anything like this?

Please break this into paragraphs. I can't keep my place to read the whole thing.
