Do you think you can prevent them?
How do you minimize them?

If theres a way to prevent them, I didn't find it..I bought the special 10 dollar for a tiny tub of belly butter thats supposed to prevent them and nope didnt work.
Time made mine fade..I haven't gotten small enough afterwards to see how hangy my skin is though..but good news is with this 2nd pregnancy I've only gotten 2 stretchmarks! lol...gotta look at the brightside..
Try not to stress over it too much, cuz I went to bed with like 4 stretchmarks once and woke up covered one morning, I had also gained 10lbs, and my stomach was HUGE! I had like a pair of sweats that fit and DF had to steal me one of his dads t-shirts to wear til we could go shopping..it was awful
I'm Stacy, I'm 20, I attend college, I got my high school diploma, My daughter is 3, I am engaged to daddy, I am natural child birthing, I'm a non-smoker, I'm a non- cio, I co-sleep, I breastfed, I disposable diapered, I forward faced at 1, I vaccinate, I am bi-curious, I am pro-life, I am expecting a little boy Nov. 20th, I believe in god, I spank when needed, I feed my daughter whatever she wants to eat, I potty trained before 2, and I am a teen mommy who has already broken the stereotype!
I have been using a blend of different oils to help prevent them and so far no stretch marks. I do believe that genetics play a part in them so that is why I was so worried....my mom got them bad....but then again, she carried much larger than I am. I am big but not nearly as much as she was. She says that she was the size that I am now at 20 weeks and I'm just about 34 weeks. Anyway....I use Palmer's Scar Serum, Mother's Special Blend, and pure coconut oil. The Scar Serum is only used if it appears like there is any sort of red mark on my belly....I just spot treat it and the next morning it is gone. I use the other two oils and rub all over my breasts, belly, hips, butt and thighs every night before I go to bed. During the day, I use Mustela 9 months lotion. I don't want to be all greasy under my clothes so the lotion is all that I can do. If you have a Whole Foods market, they sell the Mother's Special Blend there....it's a blend of cocoa butter, vitamin e, coconut, pecan, and almond oils. They also sell tubs of coconut oil there.
I'm not above any method to try and prevent them, lol- I even have used avacados, mushed up with milk and rubbed onto the target areas- yucky, but supposedly great for the skin- also "mothers care" lotion, or cocoa butter or vitamin E (pure, the really sticky stuff)-
some say it's genetic whether or not you get them, but I always put forth my best effort anyway, and mine are minimal- four kids (well almost) and none on my stomach so far, though my butt and boobs didn't make it out unscathed, lol-
Living with them is just accepting them as a produt of bearing your children and knowing that you wouldn't trade your kids for that pre kid smooth skin anyway-
I used cocoa butter cream (not lotion, the cream in the big round tub, I actually think it was in the ethnic hair care section at walmart if I remember right, not sure though)
I used it with both pregnancies and I don't have any stretch marks. I put it on every day after the shower..... hips, butt, belly, boobs!

I bought all the good stuff that I was told would prevent them and at about 8 1/2 months I ended up with a whole belly full of them. I was totally distraught but my daughter is now 18 months old and my stretch marksd have faded substantially. Best part though, my daughters dad doesn't think anything of them and still kisses my belly on occasion so...I wouldn't get to shook.
Where can I find that Scar Serum?

I used every product that Palmers made for strechmarks, didn't get any until about 8 months and then I felt like my belly exploded with them, LOL. My Dr.'s both gave me the best advice anyone could have given me, when I was still pregnant my female OB told me that if your Mother got them you are very likely to get them also, so use that as a good indication, she also said skin types (dry, oily, dark, fair) are more prone to get them than others, I'm light complected with dry-ish skin. After I gave birth to my son, my male OB told me, "Don't worry about them, look at the beautiful gift you got, a few stretchmarks should be the furthest thing from your mind". Mine have faded to where they are barely noticeable and they were REALLY bad at first, at least in my opinion. I also used the Mederma scar cream that you can get at Wal-Mart or any other store and that seemed to really help fade mine.
I bought mine at Babies "R" Us
