Question: do you think pull ups is just a way for them to get more money from you or do you think they really help?

my son has a potty and went like 4 times pee and poop but when i tryed the next day he wont go everytime i take him in there he freaks out and wont stop crying i dont want to make me sit on the potty i have a sticker chart and that worked last night but now he does not even care about the stickers... this is my first child and i am a young mom i dont know what to do... does anyone know wat i should do or try everything helps....thanks
I have 3 boys...The first 2 I had potty trained by 2 years and the other is only 10 months so we aren't there yet. But with the older 2 I had them pick out big boy unders and made it a point to take them to the potty every half hour. You can use rewards such as Match Box cars or anything you can pick up for around a $1 because these things add up. At the end of the day if he used the potty all day with no accidents he gets to pick out a new car or whatever you choose to use as rewards. As for the pull ups the only time I used them was at night and we only used them the first 2 weeks. Some children catch on quicker than others but try to make it fun, it makes a big difference. Some mommies will put cherrios in the potty and tell lil boys to try and hit the floating cherrios. They also have training floating things at Toys R US and Babies R Us they are multicolored and are used for the same purpose but cost more than cherrios. Good Luck Momma it will all come in time just remember to try and be patient.
The thing that worked best for both of my boys was first letting them pick out their own underwear, made it a special occasion. Then we used cheerios in the toilet to get them interested in it. Everytime they did use the potty we would laugh and clap and be very excited cheering them on, almost as if we were having a party.
I was told not to push it, my ds peed in the big potty ( we have a potty seat on it) and after that NOTHING!
I tried putting him in underwear and he at least knows now when he has to go but he hasnt made it in time. I put a little potty in the living room and run him over to it when he goes. Even if he has already gone. Then I praise him for sitting on the potty and change his underwear. We go through about 6 pair in one afternoon. lol.
I had done the underwear trick and it worked. He would scream and cry as well when i brought him to the toliet. I let him get wet, or poop himself, calmly take him to the restroom to change his clothes, and explained the potty while doing so. he cought on and loved the praise he got for going potty, i stopped using treats after he got pooping down, he'll occationally ask for one now, but rarely
thank you! My son loves matchbox cars, this might actually work! I'm going to try it!
