Blow-up pool for a 3-year-old

How big?  How long can you leave it up without changing the water?  It kills the grass if you leave it one place for too long, but you can't dump it every day - it takes way too long to fill.  Does anyone else have this dilemma?

we always put it on a deck or a patio with the old style camping mats. that way it didnt ruin the grass.

We only have grass in back.  I wish we had a patio, but our yard is small.

Do you have a flat driveway?  I can't think of anything else that would keep the grass from getting killed except to dump/move/refill the pool every 3-4 days.  That's what we do because the water will get full of bugs and grass after a few days + the grass getting killed.  We can't use our driveway because it's gravel.

Yeah, other than a flat cement surface, I can't think of anything.  We have a cement area, but prefer to keep it on the softer grass.  DD(3) gets pretty wild in the pool and it hurts when flailing arms/legs hit the bottom.
Where do you live?  We live in the deep South, so we have to change our water every other day ... the heat, humidity and bugs cause the water to get pretty nasty really quick.  I'd just fill it in the a.m. so it'd be ready by the time DD wanted to swim & didn't have to wait. Thankfully, we live in Army housing & don't pay for water.  We just drain & lean it up against the house to dry out (you'll have to fill it with more air every once in awhile too).

This is the pool we had last year. DH or I could get in there with her as well ... it worked great & lasted 2 summers.

I dont know if this is completely safe but my mom use to put a spoonful of clorox in the water-to keep it from getting slimy for a few days. And just use a net to get out any bugs or grass.

Idk what to say about killing the grass. I would be afraid to put it on a cement service cause my kids are wild and would get hurt.

I was going to suggest the bleach, too.  That's what's in regular pools (chlorine which is what bleach is) but you would still want to change the water every few days and scrub the pool out with some bleach water otherwise alge will grow.

We have a tiny little grass area so it doesn't really matter.  The pool we had only fit one way and took up almost all the grass and when you drained the pool it would flood the grass turning it into mud that would take days to dry up.  We rarely used the little pool.  We also have a regular 4' pool in our backyard and the kids are all big enough to play in that now so we have no need for a kiddie pool.
