I think the neighbors would understand.

Nope. I keep him out of people's yards. especially if there is a sidewalk. if there is no sidewalk I may let him run around the edge of the yard but that's about it.

I'm sure the neighbors would understand but trying to teach my 2 1/2 year old on how to stay on the sidewalk. She's not allowed to walk in the yards because of this.

We went for a walk this morning.  For the most part, I keep DS on the sidewalk.  But some of the neighbors have little hills that he likes to climb up and run down.  I let him.  The last of the snow is melting on the grass and he had fun running through it and kicking it up.  I don't see the harm in it and he's not ruining the grass or going through flower beds or anything.  I know it bothers some people, though.

We do our best to teach the kids to stay on the sidewalk, but it is hard for a 18 month old to understnad this.  We thankfully have good neighbors with kids as well!  Our neighbor kids (more like teenages) still ask to go in the backyard if one of their toys/ balls go back there!  Such respect!!

I think our neighbors and people in general would totally be ok with a toddler running through their yard. But I dont want to say it is ok when you are 2 but not when you are 8 and bigger and can mess up someones yard. Our neighborhood kids are punks, and they ride their bikes through our yard and drive, have hit my car, destroyed christmas decorations, and destroyed my 2 year old snowman 5min after he built it, they are just disrespectful. Not to mention the highschool track team that runs through everyones yards in the neighborhood. Come to think of it, I hate our neighborhood!! And it is totally disrespectful to go through someones yard! Yes, a bit bitter now.

since we live on a private street off of another street, we dont really have a lot of neighbors and our property is huge. but when we do go out for walks, i think it is rude because the people who live by us, have lawn people every other day. lol

For the most part they stay on the sidewalk.  If it's direct neighbors that we actually know then they are allowed to play in the yards but if we are out and about they stay off of other people's lawns.  I think it's rude to be on people's property when you don't know them and that's what I have been teaching my kids.
