The word NO!

My daughter's favorite word is NO!  When I ask her questions or tell her to do something it's always NO.  Is your toddler going through this stage?

mine did for a while... she quickly grew out of it as it got her no where.  I just always tried to phrase things either as "do this" or "which do you want"  I never asked yes/ no questions... then if she said no which wasn't an option I would choose for her... she hates this!  Also if I found that I would tell her something and she would respond no (like put your jammies on was a big one) I would start giving her a choice of what to do first... so now it's do you want pajama time or brush teeth time first!  That way she feels she has a little control... when she did the one first, I ask if she remembers what needs to come next... and she is always very proud that she remembered, so she goes and gets to the next task!

DS says it for everything too, whether he means it or not! Sample conversation at my house:
Me- "Are you hungry?"
DS- "no"
Me- "Do you mean yes?"
DS - "yes"

EVERY TIME!! I cannot get that kid to just answer yes the first time!!
