Big Wooden Cutting Board (OT)

I have a huge wooden cutting board. Can I put it in the dishwasher? It's covered in raw pork drippings and I would so much rather wash it in the dishwasher than by hand, but I don't want to ruin it.

Does anyone know?

Thanks, mamas!

I have one and I have never put it in the dish washer. I always wash by hand with soap and lemon juice.

I don't put my wood ones in the dishwasher. For me I have had trouble with it screwing the wood up.

Oh rats! I was afraid you'd say that. The darned thing doesn't even fit in my sink. I'll have to wash one end, then flip it and wash the other. *sigh*

I would do it by hand, heat can damage the wood.

I usually use my heavy-duty plastic one or my wimpy plastic one, both of which are smaller and dishwasher safe. But I had a really BIG pork roast I needed to cut in half and then cube (half). I didn't want it to leak off the cutting board and all over the counter!

I wash it by hand with very hot water and soap.

The thing is, if fits in this special little slot above the cabinet drawers--like it was MADE for the kitchen. I'm so afraid I'll ruin it then have that empty slot there--reminding me that I screwed up! LOL

So... I'm washing by hand just in case.

Thanks, mamas!!
