My 4 year old has suddenly started sucking her thumb

My 4 year old has suddenly started sucking her thumb about a couple of months back. She was fine till now. She has recently started preschool but she seems to love it. Never cries when I leave her there. Am worried. What could be the cause?

I am having about the same problrm only with my 2 year old. She has been sucking on her bottom lip for some time now and it is becoming a problem because I now noice her lip getting a little bigger. I NEED HELP!!! lol Any suggestions?
