Any moms have some tips on how to prepare Ally & MYSELF for when she goes to school in August. She will be going for 7 hours a day monday-friday! and this momma just isn't as ready as she thought she'd be! Any tips would be GREAT!

She's been at home with me her whole life!!!

Awh momma! Join PTA, volunteer at school, eat lunch with her.. Those things will keep you close. :-) Also, see if your area has a stay-at-home mom's group for school-aged children. I found one for my town on Meet-Up!

Definitely try to get her socializing with other kids as much as possible in the next few months.  The more interaction she has, the better she will do.

Talk to her about it.  Tell her how things will work as far as having to listen to what her teachers tell her to do.  Tell her how much fun she will have!!

Good luck, she will do great!

Check if your local school district, town parks and rec. or ymca has drop off programs.  My son who 3 and starting preschool in the fall, is doing drop off classes twice a week.

I agree, that is a long pre-k day. Our state does free pre-k for 3 hrs/day and that killed me...even the K-5th grade is only 6 hrs/day here.

Just talk to her about it, she will do fine. My dd goes to Kindergarden this yr and has been at home with me since she was born. Its starting to sink in now and im not so worried. I think she is ready. It will be fine momma. Just get involved at school with her when they need u.
