We have Saturday to Saturday at the end of this month for a trip to Florida. Do we take two days to drive there and two days to drive back, or do we fly? We will be staying with my dad. Money isn't an issue as far as this goes. I have great memories of driving to Florida (from Indiana) from when I was a kid. I want my daughter to experience that part of a trip, too. My husband would rather fly. I had a sister when I was a kid, so we had each other to play with. Dd is an only child...would she have any fun at all from the drive and motel swimming pools? My father has a pool now, but those are my memories I guess I am trying to recreate. What would you do?
It really depends on cost, are you guys good flyers, and do you want to waste that much time driving?
I'm still in Indiana. Born and bred. : )

Where are you at? We always drive, but have four kids, and I hate to fly. We can get there in about 24 hours, we do it in a day. I would rather push and drive than waste two days. If you only have seven days, four are spent driving.

Since its only a week, I would fly. I would definitely drive if I was going to stay there longer.
I'm so glad you chimed in!

I would drive. My daughter is four, and she's been to 28 states already. Nothing beats an old-fashioned road trip to see what an amazing country we live in. Find an iconic place to do the overnight stay (noteworthy hotel, attraction, or national park). It's worth the time.
