Hello everyone! I am new to Cafemom and I think it's just a great place for us mommies to talk to other mommies. I have a 2 1/2 year old boy who is my pride and joy, we are on potty training and I have to say that I am very proud of his process.
I live in FL and my sister in law and I just started our own business of mommy and me classes!!
I look forward to meeting more moms!
Hi there. My name is Melissa and I have a 3 year old son named Christopher. I am a single parent that works full time and am also a part-time student trying to finish my degree. I fully believe that it takes a villiage to raise a child, and since I don't have much of a support system with regards to parenting, I thought I would give this a try. I look forward to getting to know some other moms!

Sooo...this is me and my clan! I am a mother to four children (3 girls and 1 boy.) Mackenzie will be 13 next month, Kaitlynn is 11, Madison is 6, and Austin is 2 1/2. I thought that by having already gone through the toddler phase three different times, it would be a breeze with my littlest one, but boy, I was wrong. I'm not sure if it could be attributed to his being the only boy or just that he is a very rambunctious, stubborn, sneaky, and majorly lovey two year old. Another aspect to the equation is that I also work full time, although my work schedule allows me to do most of my tasks from home or in the car, thereby alleviating the costs of daycare. It also detracts from the attention I should be giving him, and my sanity when I can't get peace and quiet to concentrate on my work. We are also an extremely busy family with one daughter on a competitive cheer team, another on an elite travel soccer team, my little daughter is busy with soccer and anything else that perks her interest, and Austin will be starting toddler soccer later this summer. In other words, things never seem to slow down. We are constantly on the go. Although we do like it that way, the downside is that things such as housework falls directly into my hands as the only time we have to catch up on that is when the kids are in bed and my husband is at work - who works the night shift this year. Consequently, I'm too tired and always feel overwhelmend and underaccomplished! My family is my absolute life, I just wish we could slow it down to what it was like before where we would all play games, or read, paint toenails, or just be silly together.
