my son showed his penis

My four year old was in the bedroom playing video games w his friends when I heard my roommate screaming at my son. When I went in back she was removing her two boys from the room because kaden had shown them his penis. I pulled him aside and told him this was not appropriate behavior.
I feel like a horrible mom right now. Is this abnormal? Should I be alarmed? The way my roommate yelled at him and removed her kids makes me feel horrible ans kaden feels bad too. :(

I dont think this is abnormal. But you should talk to your boy and found out if someone else taught him this behavior .

I don't think it's abnormal. At that age they usually don't think of it all like adults do. Your roommate didn't handle that very well, btw.
Just talk to your son, let him know that its inappropriate and move on.

It is not abnormal. My 3 year old nephew did this at a birthday party and there were girls present. My sil just took him aside and told him it was unexceptable behavior. I don't know if he has done it since.

he's 4. i think your roommate over reacted. let your son know it's not okay to do that. but i think it's pretty normal.

Your roomate WAY overreacted.  He's 4, not 14.  Kids do that.  They are curious about body parts and want to compare and see who matches LOL.

Definately keep reminding him about what's appropriate and what's not.  But IMO this is pretty normal behavior for a kid.

It's not abnormal. At this age they are still learning and are curious. Your room mate over reacted

No, not abnormal at all :/.  Kids are going to do this and they don't really realize that those parts are for "sex" yet :/.  I woudln't worry.  You takled to him and that's all that should beneeded.

I agree with all of the pp.

I think it is normal at that age and the roomate should have handled it a little better.
