Lunch Police Raids Preschooler's Meal at West Hoke Elementry.
I personally think this is completly BS! Yea, it's so much better that she only ate 3 nuggets, when she could of had an actual meal that would of provided more nutrition. What gives them to right to police what we eat? Come on!
ok, so 3 chicken nuggets were more healthy than the lunch she brought? that's crazy.
Anyways, follow the laws ( maybe stupid granted) until they are changed... What are you gonna do. If that's the policy make sure you follow it.
Yet the little girl ate overly processed chicken nuggets and that was it! Makes no sense to me!
Oh, this is just so f*cked up in so many ways. It sounds to me like the child's mother packed a perfectly suitable lunch. It's not like she packed candy and kool-aid in there. I'd have given them total hell for doing what they did. Since when is 3 frickin' chicken nuggets healthier than what she packed? And seriously, if the mother met the "guidelines" for a packed lunch, her kid wouldn't have eaten the veggies anyway so it would have been a waste. I would have been FURIOUS if this was my kid.
Idk about that, it was the title of the article. They could of had a typo.
As for the other thing, the government food guidelines are just that, guidelines. They are not the law. And as far as the policy of the school well tecnically she was following it: Bread-Grain, Turkey-Meat/Protein, Cheese-Dairy, Banna- Fruit. Yea, she was missing the veggie, but I think the point is the mother's meal clearly had more nutrtional value then what the school gave her. (So they weren't even following their own policy) I know how picky kids can be with eating, my son is very picky. And it should be more important that the child actually eats, that should be their first concern.

I'm confused....if I read that right, her lunch did meet the guidelines. One serving of meat: turkey on the sandwich, one serving of milk: cheese on the sandwich, one serving of grain: the bread, two servings of fruit or vegatables: banana and apple juice. So why did they feel the need to force feed her chicken nuggets?? Of course, even if it didn't meet the guidelines, it's still wrong.
