Ok i am not a very rich person and never was, even growing up. I was raised on good will, and rummage sale clothes, and when my mom took me out prom shopping and wedding shopping i baught the cheapest dress. My prom dresses were usually on sale for like 35 dollars and my wedding dress was only 100 dollars.

So when i had my kids i always got used clothes from good will, then when i heard of kidsgear i got clthes for them there. and when the rummage sales start i always buy clothes for them and me.

But yesterday i was looking on craigslist and came accorss a lady that was selling some 4t boys clothes, well my oldest son is just getting into it, so i thought ok , call her up and make an appt to meet with her when i had a chance.

so this morning i called her up and asked how much she wants for the clothes,  she didn't give me a straight answer so i asked her if she would take 15 dollars for the garbage bag of clothes. She said ok deal. so after i picked my son up from school, i headed to walmart, met her, got to her van, her kid was not in the carseat, she was smoking, and my reaction is OMG what did i do my husband will kill me if this is not a good deal. So she opened the door, handed me the bag, i gave her the money, and put the bag in the back of my van. Went inside walmart to get my niece one more present, then i made my oldest take his 4 year old pics. Got home, made lunch for my kids, and looked in the bag, and the clothes were really awesome. I feel like i just ripped this women off.

So i just got a deal on these clothes, but i feel completly horrible about it. wondering do u ladies ever buy clothes off of craigslist or do any thing similar.

It's not something I do. But don't feel guilty! You didn't know what was in the bag going into it, but the other woman did. And she still agreed to the price you gave her. She wouldn't have sold it to you if she wasn't happy with the arrangement. Enjoy the clothes!

Sounds like she's a littel down on her luck. To her that fifteen dollars was probably a lot. Yes I have gotten deals like that and sometimes I felt guilty...but really, you shouldn't. It's one thing if you just got the clothes and promsied you'd pay her later, but you had the cash there. You didn't pursuade her or negotiate with her too much, she took it bc she probably thought that was the most she'd get for them.

If anything, you should feel like you helped her out too--after all she didn't need those clothes anymore for her son, and she obviously needed the money or else she wouldn't have put an ad on craigslist and given them to a women's shelter or some charity place instead. Realistically a garage sale woukdn't have went well as msot of those have poor turn-outs unless you have lots of other stuff besides just kdis' clothes to attract people, and some ppl would have asked for those clothes for even less. That fiteen dolalrs you gave her could benefit her or her kids---maybe she'll get a badly needed "me" day for herself like movie or pedic/mani or hair cut, or maybe some new fitting clothes for her kids lol. It was win/win situation. Nobody cheated anyone.

Never bought on craigslist, but I use thredup.com. I get my son clothes on there, and am able to get rid of all his outgrown clothes. I would love to keep them for future son(s) (if we have another boy soneday) but storage space is extremely limited in our house. I recommend it to anyone. I have always gotten really great quality mostly big name brand clothes on there. My ds needed something nice and dressy to wear to my sisters wedding and the cheapest I cam across was $40+ for an outfit. I spend $7 ish (using credits, usually $19.95 to $29.95 per stuffed box) for a complete outfit plus lots of extras. Great deal great clothes!

Thats a sweet deal. Dont feel guilty, just pay it foreward. I gave away about 200 pieces of toddler clothing for FREE. I told them I didnt want anything, just to pay it foreward. :)
