My daughter was 8 months. She had 8 teeth and was my first child so I wanted to make sure I was caring for her teeth properly. She has had a visit every 6 months since then.
My son is 9 months old and he went with us at my daughter's last appointment but only to watch (he only had two teeth at the time). His first visit will be when he is 15 months in July at the same time as his sister's next appointment.
our oldest is 7 1/2 years older than little son. We take him in each July to get his teeth checked. In April little son was born, and that July when we took Bubba to the Dentist, we took him along, and got him acquainted with a strange man putting his fingers in his mouth. We took him agian the next year (15 months old) and he had an infant exam.
We brush every morning and night with him, and have even begun flossing. We put a HUGE emphasis on oral hygiene in our house though!
As soon as they break the first tooth. My stepson had his at about 5 months old I think, after that he had them once a year, so again at 17 months and 2.5, then once hes was three he started going once every 6 months.
I think they changed the 'rules' that it should be done before 2yr old. But my daughter just had her first dental appointment last week at the age of 3yr. It was awful! Don't get me wrong the people were great, but my daughter had a panicy moment and freaked out. Not fun, but got her teeth cleaned, flouride, and flossed! :)
I took my daughter to the dentist when she was 6 months. It was required for her to be in daycare.
My other 2 are so old that I've forgotten lol.
I was thinking 2 or 3.
I just can't see them being able to do much with my dd at this age. But it's getting used to it I guess.
Thanks again!
